Additional Information: Durell Park is the outcome of an effort led by the Somerville Conservation Commission to turn an asphalt lot into a community garden. Originally the play area for the former Durell School, the new community garden has 18 plots, two of which are raised beds to accommodate wheelchair accessibility. An Urban Self Help Grant from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation Services helped finance this new addition to the City's open space network.
